Despite rumors to the contrary, sources claim that Mike Comrie won't be returning to the Oilers.
"It ain't happening ... he ain't coming here," a well-informed source told the Edmonton Journal. "Mike doesn't fit any need that we have right now."
Comrie is an unrestricted free agent.

Canucks Have Had Talks With Sundin

Predators Show Interest In Chelios
The Predators are believed to be interested in 47-year-old defenseman Chris Chelios.
"I said, 'Chris, are you sure you'd have the interest of playing in Nashville, because you're not exactly well-liked here?' He said, 'Trotzy, trust me, I'm not well-liked anywhere.' I said 'Yeah, I guess you're right,' " Predators coach Barry Trotz told the Tennessean.
Chelios has also drawn interest from KHL clubs, but they have yet to make any formal offers.

Thrashers general manager Don Waddell is confident that the team will agree on a new deal with Ilya Kovalchuk.
Waddell characterized contract negotiations with Kovalchuk as "constructive" on Monday.
"We've had several face-to-face meetings," Waddell told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "We've had some very, very long discussions."
Kovalchuk is the franchise's all-time leader in goals, points and games played, and is entering the final year of his contract.
"I feel very confident that at some point ? I don't know when that point will be ? but at some point, we will get a contract done," Waddell said. "I'm OK at this point because of the conversations we are having. If the conversations were broken off or argumentative, I would have a lot more concern."
Wild In Talks With Alex Tanguay
Training camp is just three weeks away, but the Wild are still looking to add another scoring forward.
Alex Tanguay is considering a contract offer from Minnesota, the winger's agent told the Star Tribune.
Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher confirmed the team's interest in Tanguay, who has 38 points in 41 career games against Minnesota.
"Alex has been on the phone with Chuck and I've been on the phone with Chuck," agent Ritch Winter said. "We're working on some other teams, too. We're just doing as much homework as we can to help Alex make an informed decision."
